Documentación del Patrimonio Arqueológico mediante el procedimiento del diseño por contacto con las superficies musivas pavimentales y parietales del…
2021
[EN] The archaeological excavations that have been carried out in the Hispano-Roman city of Valeria have exhumed the remains of a thermal complex from the 1st century AD that it was in service for four centuries and that, after its abandonment, it was barely spoiled for its constructive and decorative materials. This circumstance has allowed the conservation of a paving mosaic in a good state of preservation. In this same room has been recovered an important collection of fragments corresponding to the parietal musive decoration that constitutes a unique corpus in the Roman archaeology of the province of Cuenca. Due to the historical-archaeological importance of this type of elements, a met…
Numerical and experimental analysis of load capacity of pressure vessels for large deformations
1991
Abstract A method of theoretical and experimental investigations of large deformations and load capacity of pressure vessels has been proposed. Algorithms and programs for numerical analysis (with the finite element method) of spatial stress and strain state and load capacity have been worked out according to the Prandtl-Reuss theory of plastic flow. Loading in the vessel was realized in an incremental way. The loading process was continued up to the moment when the maximum loading was obtained (i.e. the moment when state of equilibrium of the vessel was not possible). It has been found that in thin-walled circular vessels with rigid bottoms, when a ratio of length to their diameter is less…
Comparison between Deep-Drawing and Incremental Forming Processes from an Environmental Point of View
2019
Deep-drawing is an industrial forming process which allows the user to process large batches of sheet metals parts. One of the major drawbacks of this process is the complexity and the high cost of dies. In comparison incremental forming is a flexible process, allowing the user to obtain sheet metal parts without the need of using a die. The present paper aims to present a comparative study of the two forming processes by presenting the main advantages and drawbacks of each one. The comparative study, aimed on the industrial implementation of the incremental forming process requires a comparison of the two processes regarding the environmental impact. Thus, the results of the study will jus…
SOFTWARE FOR DRILLING TOOL DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING
2007
Abstract The paper presents a software that allows the design and manufacturing of cutting tools for boring. The methodology contains several steps that can be taken only by using the software modules. The main stages are the geometrical and dimensional design of the cutting tool, the design and generation of the abrasive profiled disks, the management of abrasive disks and disk package, the generation of the manufacturing technology, the verification of the cutting tool using virtual simulation, testing the manufacturing process using virtual simulation, generating the CNC files and finally the transmission of the CNC files in real time to the CNC machine tool so that the tools can be manu…
Mixing dynamics in uncovered unbaffled stirred tanks
2014
Abstract The present work is aimed at providing experimental information on mixing rates in an unbaffled vessel under free surface vortexing conditions. The planar laser induced fluorescence (PLIF) technique was used for measuring the dispersion dynamics of a passive tracer over a vertical section of the vessel. In agreement with the quite scant literature information available for these systems, results confirm the existence of two well defined, partially segregated, zones that give rise to a double mixing dynamics behavior. A suitable mixing time definition is proposed and applied to a number of experimental runs with different stirrer geometries and agitation speeds. Results confirm that…

Improving Formability in SPIF Processes through High Speed Rotating Tool: Experimental and Numerical Analysis
2013
Single-point incremental forming (SPIF) is a quite new sheet-forming process which offers the possibility to deform complex parts without dedicated dies using a single-point tool and a standard three-axis CNC machine. Although the process mechanics enables higher strains with respect to traditional sheet-forming processes, research has been focused on further increasing the maximum forming angle. In the paper, a new approach is used to enhance the material formability through a localized sheet heating as a consequence of the friction work caused by high speed rotating tool. Numerical simulation was utilized to relate the effect of temperature with the main field variables distribution in th…
FEM Simulation of Laminated Lightweight Materials Processed through Single Point Incremental Forming
2015
The aim of present paper is to realize the FEM simulation of laminated lightweight material processed through single point incremental forming. Thus a laminated material, aluminum - polypropylene - aluminum (Al-PP-Al), as sheet 1.2 mm thickness was used. For these material the hardening curve was determinate. These values were used to describe elastic-plastic behavior of the material during single point incremental forming process simulation. Single point incremental forming process simulation aimed to assess the distribution of values and maximum and minimum strains, the material thickness of the specimen and the technological force for the two strategies for obtaining the truncated cone s…
Soluntina forma urbis. Analisi grafiche e schemi
2015
Variable Neighborhood Search for the Vertex Separation Problem
2012
The vertex separation problem belongs to a family of optimization problems in which the objective is to nd the best separator of vertices or edges in a generic graph. This optimization problem is strongly related to other well-known graph problems; such as the Path-Width, the Node Search Number or the Interval Thickness, among others. All of these optimization problems are NP-hard and have practical applications in VLSI, computer language compiler design or graph drawing. Up to know, they have been generally tackled with exact approaches, presenting polynomial-time algorithms to obtain the optimal solution for speci c types of graphs. However, in spite of their practical applications, these…
